vik muniz - waste land

Its HotDocs time again and I have seen 4 films.
But this one was the best.

Find it, watch it, be open to finding creative solutions to connect and bring confidence.

A beautiful piece.

He is famous for creating images out of interesting/unusual elements... like a peanut butter and jam Mona Lisa or photo of a a sky written cloud.
Watch the Waste Land trailer below.

Never underestimate the young at heart.

This got me a bit emotional. I felt like this woman was given back a bit of her life with the iPad.

Lately I have been wondering how I can bridge what I do to enable and empower the elderly to live more independant healthy lives. This inspires me.
Read more about it here.

And... while I liked the classical music that played in the background. I would've liked this song more.

Design Currency - Icograda Vancouver

I got into grad school a few weeks back. Or rather, I was honoured with a letter of acceptance to the Ontario College of Art and Design to pursue a masters degree in design. I am very excited.

And then even more excited when I saw this promo video for a designer's conferencein Vancouver.Very smart and sharp.

Car Ad - Chevrolet Malibu

Usually car advertising for me falls on blind eyes, deaf ears....
But I saw a version of this Maliby the other day, while bike riding, and I liked it.
Very smart.

But that being said... I did really love this Cadillac commercial a few years back. I actually felt like it was an ad written for smart, successful women who didn't feel the need for a family van.

Likey The Like for Zac Posen's Target line

Zac Posen is about to releae his new Target inspired/designed line up of afford chic-frocks just in time for American prom season.

Snappy little video directed by Gia Coppola (yes.. that family). It's a nice fun spot, and embodies the energy of the Zac Posen line in a way that Target might not have been able to do on its own. Interestingly absent is the branding for both ZPs line or the retail outlet itself. The more branding, the less likely for it to go viral perhaps? This spot reminds me of the one Holt Renfrew did for their fall launch.
